New texting program aimed at opioid epidemic

The Heart of Florida United Way announced Tuesday it has launched a text platform that can be used by people seeking drug treatment, their loved ones or the general public to get immediate help via cell phone...It works by texting the word “OPIOID” to TXT-211 (or 898-211), which initiates a series of questions to determine what kind of help the person needs, and it offers links and local resources in response.
