Carol Houwaart-Diez

In July of 2016, Carol moved her family from Niagara County New York to become the President/CEO of United Way of Martin County.  She is passionate about improving the quality of life for all in her community.  She brings that passion and commitment to her work as evident by her 30 plus years with the United Way movement.

She gets inspired by meeting the people in her community and loves seeing when clients receive a  hand up.  Carol works everyday with her team to make sure the programs that are needed to provide that hand up are supported by United Way.

Jennifer Anchors

Jennifer Anchors joined the United Way of Suwannee Valley in 2018.   She was formerly the Executive Director for a child welfare organization.  She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and has been working in the not-for-profit arena as an administrator for her entire career. Originally from south west Pennsylvania, she first moved to South Florida where she began her career.  She has two teenage daughters that she enjoys spending her time with.

Meredith Egan

Meredith is passionate about community building to improve lifelong outcomes for children and families. She began her journey as a United Way professional in 2006 and has held a diverse variety of positions at United Ways across the country. Joining UWIRC in 2014 as the Community Impact Director, she led the redesign of the community investment process to a more strategic, collective impact approach. Her success aligning the investment of community impact funds with building collaborations across the community earned her a promotion to COO in 2015.

Jessica Muroff

Jessica Muroff is the CEO for United Way Suncoast, ensuring connections are made that cultivate growth, increase community impact and optimize delivery of the organization's strategic priorities that fight for the education and financial stability of every person in the community through educational programs that give children the skills to succeed, helping adults achieve long-term financial stability and activating caring individuals through volunteerism.

Christina Criser Jackson

Christina, a graduate of the University of Florida, has dedicated her life to nonprofit work. With a master’s degree in family, youth and community sciences, Christina is passionate about improving lives and strengthening our community. Starting her career at United Way Worldwide, Christina has served our Central Florida community for over a decade.

She is a member of the Junior League of Greater Lakeland and the Association of Fundraising Professionals Florida Caucus. Christina is also a graduate of the UWW Advanced Leadership Program.

Amber Miller

Amber joined United Way of North Central Florida in 2018 after spending the majority of her career in marketing, advertising, community relations, and graphic design. Her transition to nonprofit work began in the fall of 2014 as a volunteer for a local nonprofit sanctuary where she learned the ins-and-outs of charitable giving and donor relations. Amber has since held roles in development for two nonprofit agencies before joining United Way where she has continued to hone her skills.

George Schmalstig

George Schmalstig has been working to improve the lives of children and families for more than 24 years. Born and raised in central Ohio, he moved to Citrus County, FL in 1998, where he immediately began making an impact in the community by mentoring students and serving on numerous boards.
