Angie B. Walasek

Angie B. Walasek is the Executive Director/CEO of United Way of Hernando County in Spring Hill, FL.  After beginning her career with UWHC in 2010, she quickly found her calling and un-denying passion for her hometown. Angie was officially appointed the CEO leadership position in 2014 by the Board of Directors. Angie has made it her personal mission over the years to raise awareness and strengthen local partnerships. By incorporating the “LIVE UNITED” movement, she strives to increase corporate workplace relationships, investments, and lives helped through strategic program funding.

Kathleen Cannon

As a social worker by trade, Kathleen Cannon understands firsthand the impact that non-profits have in the community. As President and CEO of United Way of Broward County she utilizes her talents and undeniable ability to recognize a need and then seek out partners to create long-lasting positive solutions.

Angie Matthiessen

Angie Matthiessen joined United Way of Charlotte County (UWCC) in 2014. Matthiessen obtained her Masters of Social Work from the University of Georgia in 1994, and her Bachelor’s in Psychology from Georgia State University in 1990. Prior to joining UWCC, she worked at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta for over 15 years, leading the Immunize Georgia program, as well as several statewide school health initiatives. In 2012, she edited the statewide school health resource manual – a 600 page resource for every school in Georgia.

Kelly Jasen

Kelly Jasen joined United Way Emerald Coast in November 2019, becoming the first female CEO of the organization. She oversees day-to-day operations and leads the effort to strengthen communities by mobilizing the caring, compassionate power of Okaloosa and Walton counties.

Jeff Hayward

Jeff brings a unique background in politics, public and private sector leadership. After serving in the Massachusetts House of Representatives and VP of development/marketing for a national, publicly traded health care company, he joined United Way of Massachusetts Bay. As chief of external affairs, he led the strategic investment of over $30M.  He leverages his experience in Central Florida by serving on the Leadership Council of the Central Florida Commission on Homelessness, the Board of CareerSource Central Florida, and on the Board of the Orlando Economic Partnership.

Laurie George

Laurie George, Ph.D., President & Chief Executive Officer to the United Way of Palm Beach County, has more than 20 years of c-level experience.  Over the past seven years as the CEO of United Way of Palm Beach County, Dr. George has led the organization to a new level of success by reaching an all-time high of over $17.1M in total fundraising.

Barbara Cruz

Barbara Cruz is a native of Sarasota County and a fifth generation Floridian and has worked in the non-profit field for over 30 years.  She has held various leadership roles during her career; and has recently been appointed the President & CEO of the United Way of South Sarasota County serving Venice, Englewood, North Port, Laurel, Osprey and Nokomis.

Laura Gilliam

Laura Gilliam joined United Way of West Florida (formerly United Way of Escambia County) as President/CEO in January, 2018.  Laura began her non-profit career in 1996 with Faith in Action of the River Cities.  She served as Executive Director of United Way of the River Cities in Huntington, West Virginia for 12 years.

While in West Virginia, Laura served on several boards, and as the President of the Board of West Virginia 211.  She has presented at local and regional meetings and was a member and past president of the Huntington Rotary Club.
